Motorcycle crashes
Motorcycle crash claims
A rider's claim starts behind. The adjuster assumes speed before reading the report. We build the file that answers that assumption with the road, the bike and the footage.
Most crashes we see are a driver turning left across a rider, or changing lanes into one. The driver says the same thing almost every time: I never saw him. That's a reason the crash happened, not a defense.
In the first week we photograph the bike, the helmet and the scene, ask nearby businesses and buses for camera footage before it's recorded over, and get the 911 call and the officer's report. Then we price everything: the bike, the gear, the treatment, the time off and what the injury takes from the riding season.
The file
What goes in the file
The bike and the gear
Photos and repair estimates for the motorcycle, plus the helmet, jacket, boots and gloves, which insurers like to leave out.
Footage
Helmet cameras, dash cameras, bus cameras and business cameras, requested in writing before they loop.
The road
Measurements, gravel, potholes and sight lines, photographed while they're still the same.
Your treatment
Every bill and record from the ambulance on, in one place, read for what it says about the months ahead.
Questions
What riders ask us
The insurer says I was speeding. Does that end my claim?
No. Fault can be shared, and a claim can still go forward when it is. Footage, skid marks and the damage to both vehicles often tell a different story than the first report.
I wasn't wearing all my gear. Can I still make a claim?
Usually, yes. What you wore can come up when the insurer argues about how bad the injury is, so tell us early and we'll deal with it in the file.
Who pays to fix the bike while the claim is open?
Often the other driver's insurer pays the property damage first and separately. We can help with that part even before the injury claim is ready.
Rode in a crash? Call before the bike is repaired.
Ramon takes most of these cases from the Tacoma office. The first call is free.
No fee unless we recover money for you. Case costs, like records and expert reviews, come out of the recovery; if there is no recovery, you owe neither.
